17 November 2009 witnessed the following AIPM working groups sessions: on intellectual property and on registration and quality control of medicines.The participants of the sessions discussed a number of proposals for developing conceptual approaches on improving medicines supply of the nation with the medicines required as well as considered the issues to be raised at the meeting with representatives of regulatory agencies.  

11-13 November 2009 Y.M. Ivashkevich, Chairman of the AIPM Belarus Supervisory Board and A.N. Sychov, Executive Director, had a business trip to Moscow. The trip included negotiations with V.V. Omelianovskiy, Director of the Scientific Research Institute for Clinical and Economic Expertise and Pharmacoeconomics, on cooperation in the field of pharmacoeconomic research. The trip also included a meeting with the AIPM Russia Board of Directors. Y.M. Ivashkevich, Chairman of the AIPM Belarus Supervisory Board and A.N. Sychov, Executive Director also participated in the state reception dedicated to 15 the anniversary of the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (the Russian Federation). Vitebsk City is to see the Pharmacists Congress of the Republic of Belarus on the basis of Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University. In view of ARVI epidemiological situation in the country it is postponed. We will additionally inform you on the date of the Congress.

 23-24 October 2009 witnessed 12^th Annual European Congress of the International Society for Pharmaeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) “Health Care Decision Making in Europe: From Patients to Populations”. The Belarusian Chapter of ISPOR (BSPOR) was represented in this Forum by A.N. Sychev, AIPM Belarus Executive Director.

21 October 2009 the IHCC AG Representative Office saw the working group session on improving the system of medicines registration and quality control.  16 September 2009 on the initiative of the Committee for Regulatory Policy of the WHO European Regional Office visiting for working issues the Republic of Belarus Minsk witnessed a meeting. The meeting gathered A.N. Selyuzhitskiy, AIPM Chairman of the Supervisory Board, A.N.Sychov, AIPM Executive Director and V.B.Liukovich, AIPM Deputy Director. The meeting raised the issues of medicines quality control, clinical trials, registration system and intellectual property in the Republic of Belarus as well as presented the AIPM Belarus’ position on these issues.
